Welcome to the Noosaville State Primary School Website

Noosaville is a vibrant school with an absolute focus on students and their learning. Our teachers are committed to planning and preparing thoroughly in order to actively engage students in all curriculum areas. A sense of pride in the school is enhanced by the genuine care and compassion displayed by all staff.

Students at Noosaville are taught that it is their responsibility to do the very best they can and in all of their actions to be considerate of others. Our motto 'Quality Education in a Quality Environment' provides us with a focus for discussion regarding attitude, goals and achievement.

Noosaville State School currently caters for 599 students in years Prep, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and year 7. We also have a Special Education Early Intervention Unit to cater for school age special needs students.

    P AND C NEWS

Tables and Chairs on the senior oval: The Student Representative Council, in partnership with the P&C have been working together since late last year to purchase outdoor table and chair settings for the senior oval. Students and teachers are enjoying the new additions and look forward to showing them off during upcoming events like sports days etc. It is great to see students showing initiative like this and working together to achieve a common goal. Well done to the SRC!

Showing Appreciation to our Teachers: Teachers help to shape the future of our children and therefore our nation. Yet there are few opportunities to recognise and acknowledge their outstanding contribution and commitment. Noosaville State School P&C invites parents to say thank you to inspirational teachers who demonstrate effectiveness, innovation and excellence in their profession. This is your chance to do so by nominating a teacher for the NEITA 2012 Inspirational Teaching Awards. It’s easy to nominate and show our teachers how much we appreciate and support them. Nomination forms can be downloaded or completed online at: www.neita.com.au or call 1800 624 487 to request a form to be sent out to you. Nominations can be made by any parent or caregiver and teachers can receive some great rewards. Nominations close 31 July 2012.

Noosaville Little Joeys Playgroup: Little Joeys is on every Wednesday 9-11am in the OSHC room. Our aim is to provide a happy and stimulating environment for you and your child, where they can continue their personal development secure in the knowledge that their parent or carer is nearby. We encourage interactive play between you and your child whilst at Little Joeys. Children are encouraged to be ‘kind’ to each other and ‘gentle’ with the younger babies, learn to take turns and share. We would love to see you there! If you have any queries or require further information please do not hesitate to contact Megan megsiemills@yahoo.com

Mothers Day Stall: This year’s Mothers Day Stall was a huge success with Noosaville students delighting in picking out something special for their Mum. A huge thank you to the amazing parents that volunteered their time on the day to make the stall special for everyone. A thank you also to Noosa Wholesalers for donating the bags used to hide the children’s treasured gifts.   Community help from local businesses like this is invaluable.

Fun Run: We will be holding an adidas School Fun Run as a major fundraising event for this year. The event will be held on Friday 8 June within the school grounds. The adidas School Fun Run is a healthy, fun and active fundraiser that ensures we send the right message to our students about getting active, having fun and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The main focus of this event is on participation. Family support is most appreciated as we encourage all students to get involved. All students will soon receive a sponsorship form to help collect sponsorship on behalf of the school. The funds raised will be used to purchase sporting equipment for the hall, classroom use and our PE program. We ask all parents to read the sponsorship form and sign the front page to grant permission for their child to fundraise and participate in this event. Students who raise just $10 or more will receive a reward for their effort. In the sponsorship form you will also find many other benefits like the chance to win a family holiday to Disneyland!  Finally we would like to welcome parents and family members to attend the adidas School Fun Run event day at the school on Friday 8th June to help cheer on the students.

Trivia Night: Trivia Night is coming again! Trivia Night is coming again and is booked in for July 27, so organise a babysitter, or start linking up with Mums and Dads from your classes to form teams. Tables will have room for 6 people this year, and the night will be full of fun, games and prizes. Last years’ event is still being talked about as a highlight of the year, so don’t miss out this time around! Information about how to purchase tickets will come out towards the end of the term, so that you can get in quick to snap up your tickets in the first weeks of next term.

There are many ways you can be involved for the night, from buying tickets and coming along, to donating some prizes through your own business or even donating a prize as an individual. Last year we had prizes from school family businesses that included spray tans, jewellery gift vouchers, car details, car services, and paint gift vouchers, to name a few. Individual donations can include movie tickets or gift vouchers for your favourite café or shop. It’s a wonderful way to support local businesses, and any business that donates a prize gets exposure through our school newsletter, flyers leading up to the event, and a slideshow on the night showing business cards. So far this year, we have a decorative print, candles and an interior design consultation kindly donated by Noosa Interiors, and a three night camping holiday at Brooloo Park Eco Retreat, which would make a wonderful family holiday away. Check out this amazing destination at www.brooloopark.com We also have been given an amazing photographic package which includes a $150 session fee, 1-2 hour photographic session, plus $500 digital collection and $90 Matted print with a total value of $740!!! This has been donated by Melanie McNiven and you can see details of her work at http://www.melaniemcniven.com or on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pbmel.
As you can see, it’s shaping up to be a wonderful night, so come on and Get Involved!

Volunteers Corner: Do you have some time free you would like to invest in the education of children at Noosaville State School? If you would like to volunteer some of your time, please see your child’s class teacher or touch base with Sue Silburn on staff or phone Melanie Clare on 0466 560 200 and they can point you in the right direction to help out.
Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless. ~Sherry Anderson

The Giant Lunchbox: This week we are looking for donations of PURE Icing Sugar and Self Raising Flour. Bringing in donations helps to keep running costs down and is a great way to help out if you don’t have the time to volunteer. If you would like to volunteer though, please drop in and see Heidi and Karen or call them on 54 403 264 and they can put you on their roster. Helping out one day a week, one day a month or even once a term is a great way to get involved in our school community. Volunteers are given a free lunch and their children are given a voucher for a free lunch also. Remember The Giant Lunchbox is NOW OPEN FIVE DAYS a week and Thursday is still Dollar Day! We are also stocking girls winter tights for $10 and have stock in NOW!

Get Involved in 2012 and together we can make OUR school the best it can be!
