Student Stars Shine at Noosaville

Noosaville State School students are absolute stars following their massive efforts in making more than 600 beautiful colourful stars for an art installation, which was on display in King George Square in Brisbane. Student groups worked tirelessly during their lunchbreaks last year to fold and construct the stars made out of ribbon, which were then sent off to the artist, to add to her kinetic art piece installation. The project was instigated by Noosaville’s guidance officer, Vicki Anderson-Bain and chaplain, Michelle Gambeiro who worked with student leaders to train them in the art of star making and these leaders in turn taught other students in the school. Vicki said that, “The message behind the making of each star was to take a stand against violence in all forms and that students certainly wanted to convey this message very strongly to the whole school community.” Viewing the art installation over the holidays, Michelle, said it was wonderful to see all the students work come together in this beautiful art display and see so many people from around the world enjoying the messages of peace and actions against violence that each star conveyed.”
